Verde Valley Forum

for Public Affairs

The 2016 Verde Valley Forum entitled The Role of Post-Secondary Education in the Verde Valley was held in the beginning of last September.

The 2016 Verde Valley Forum Background Research Report prepared by the Morrison Institute.

The 2016 Forum convened almost 100 citizens from a variety of communities of the Verde Valley Region to discuss the facets of this topic in order to formulate recommendations for an action plan to address identified needs and enhancements for post-secondary education in our region. While our previous Forums were held over three days, the format for our 2016 Forum followed the model used by Arizona Town Hall held in August 2015 in Lake Havasu City .  We will follow a similar format for the 2017 Forum as well.

To enable greater participation, the 2016 Forum was condensed into a dinner event on Friday, followed by an intensive full-day session on Saturday.  Invitations were extended to community leaders, educators, workforce members, minority group members, senior citizens, high school and community college students from the five municipalities and five other census-designated places that comprise the Verde Valley region.  As with all of our past Forums, we engaged one of our state universities to prepare the Background Research Report.

The 2016 Forum Report was prepared by the Morrison Institute at Arizona State University.
